Lets just hope you are not using a mac to read this

Have you ever wanted to have a computer that can run the latest games? A computer that could actually makes life easier? A computer that actually works? Then don’t buy a Mac. Windows is obviously the superior operating system for many reasons. First of all, Apple makes all of the components for the computers that run the Mac Operating system. This means that they can price their computers at whatever they want. For example, the Random Access Memory (RAM) for the 2nd generation Mac Pro is priced at $999.00 for 4 Gigabytes. However, you could buy compatible RAM built by a company focused on making RAM for $269. Now, if you really want to spend four times (well, 3.7137546 times) the money on a computer than you should be spending, then be my guest and go buy a Mac. If you are like the rest of the people in the world, I am guessing that you don’t really want to have to empty your savings account just to buy a computer. You may be wondering, why are computers that run Windows not as expensive as Macs? The answer is simple. Windows is an operating system, while the computers that run Windows are manufactured by a myriad of companies that specialize in quality computers. Because Mac has made sure that they control production of all computers that have the Mac operating system, they are free to overcharge you as much as they want. Just to prove my point, the cheapest Mac desktop costs upwards from $1200. So if all you need is a basic computer to run a word processor and to send emails, then buy a HP pavilion which costs as low as $460 and runs Microsoft Windows XP or Vista.

However, there is one more thing to consider. If you are a computer gaming enthusiast or even if you just like to play a video game every so often, then I have one word of advice. Do not buy a Mac. No really, don’t even thing about buying a Mac if you want to play any video game. The very thought of some poor innocent soul even considering playing games on a Mac makes me cringe. The only solution is to get a computer running Windows. For all the bragging that Apple does in their adds, claiming that Macs are for fun loving people while PC’s are only for people who want to use spread sheets, Macs can run less than 10% of the video games on the market. You really have a brilliant and completely accurate marketing strategy there, don’t you Apple?

As I end I would like to note that this document is being written on Microsoft Word, which I might add, is the main word processor for Mac computers as well. So I now leave the choice up to you, the reader. You can either spend more money on a computer that can do less, or you can embrace our supreme and glorious savior, Windows XP. I do hope that I have been able to bring a few non-believers into the light with this sermon. As I close I would like to say, may Bill Gates’ infinite wisdom shine down upon us all.

End Process…

Daniel-

I own a Mac. I have always been more of a fan of Mac than Windows, but your paper and the facts you shared definitely caught my eye. I liked the price differences you showed because I agree that Macs are overpriced and if Windows XP is just as good if not better, than I'd rather not get a Mac next time I buy a computer. So thanks.

I just remembered I needed to ask a question also, so my question is about your title. You don't talk about the difference between Songbird and iTunes in your article so I'm wondering what the specific advantages of Songbird are?

The title was just a joke. Songbird is the music player that I use and I used it in the title because it sort of relates to the whole mac vs everything else trend in the post. It might have been a confusing title, though I might post something about songbird later.

So are you writing on a mac or on a PC? Not clear what you are trying to say with this line here.
Also, why spend so much time bashing macs when you could spend the time preaching a useful alternative? What is the specific alternative that would be better than a Mac? There are a lot of kinds of PC's out there and I'm not going to toss the Mac unless I know what I am going to get is better.
Nice job!
